Lawn full of moss and weeds what can i do

my lawn is full of moss and weeds and not much grass what is the best way to get rid of the moss and weeds and get the grass hopefully not leaving to many bald patches everywhere

Give it a really good energetic rake to remove the moss and all the dead grass.

It will look terrible as you do it and you will have some bald patches for a while, but if you scatter some grass seed and keep it well watered it should be much better in no time.

you can hire a scarifier which will get rid of most of the moss.
You can also buy things to attach to your lawn mower which will do the same.

Or, go for the fastest growing hobby in the UK and gets some chickens.
Kill the moss and weeds, and provide breakfast!

Give it a damn good rake and then sprinkle on some lawn feed.  We did this to my Mum's back garden lawn, that was in a terrible state, and it's now lovely and lush and green (took a while though, so patience needed)

im at work and my boss is always pottering about in his garden and he told me too use Lawn sand...its something that they use in bowling greens, he swears by it.
