Can anyone help On a fact finding mission 1965 to 1975 (1) How much to watch a 1st div football match (2) How much was a season ticket (3) How much FA cup ticket
LOOKING INT HOW MUCH THE PRICE OF FOOTBALL CHANGED BETWEEN 65-75
Well my old memory may be playing tricks, but I seem to remember paying about 2/6 (12.5p) to get into White Hart Lane when I first went there, in about 1965. But that would have been as a minor. I reckon I paid 4/6 (22.5p) when I got a bit older. I don't remember tickets being any more expensive for FA Cup matches.
As a (very)young lad I started going to see West Brom regularly in 1975.
It was 15p for juniors/OAPs and 35p for Adults to get in for each game.(and no it wasn't a 1 to get out!)
I could rummage around the attic if you want me to,I've got loads of programmes and stuff going back to the 50's which my old man gave me.
:-)
Steve.5 - being a berk again are we? The questioner asked about 1st division from 1965-75 and the fact is that the info provided by mighty was not relevant to that 1st division in that decade. The fact that he has offered to help is great but the questioner needed to know not to take the info provided into account for what is being looked for.
Er... was there reall any need for that, Catron? Three constructive answers and an offer of what may well turn out to be very useful assistance. Why have a go?
How pray, is the info from mighty constructive, seajaypea? It does not answer the question - WBA were not in the 1st division in 1975. All I was doing was pointing that out. Goodness but some of you do not like it when the facts are pointed out do you? ROFL.
