Things are looking dodgy according to BBC News. Administrators are hovering about, and as you say they are not accepting any new Accounts. ESPN could step in and buy the Football rights, but it would not affect the Premier league as much as it would Scottish Football. I think it is Disney who own ESPN but there are other Sports involved as well. Sky or ITV could step in but if one Broadcaster has a monopoly then they could well become dictatorial regarding Subscriber Fees. We have to pay to watch just about everything these days and it is not cheap.
If Setanta do goe bust, what will happen to existing subscribers?
I doubt if it will go 'Off Air' as the Administrators will run it until a buyer can be found. Current Subscribers should still receive a TV Service.
Schutzengel,

I think most subscribers pay monthly, well I did when they first started showing Premier football, but I get it free now as I'm with Virgin Media.

They would just have to cancel their D/Debit, but if they paid a year in advance, don't know.
trt. I pay monthly by direct debit, but I think it's a 12 month renewable contract.
Wasn't one of thier big "selling" points no long term contract?

I know I unsubscribed but it took my ?? phone calls and two months
