Hi. I've bought some meatballs (just rolled up mince which I could have done myself but felt lazy!) and was thinking of cooking them in the oven with some sort of (tomato?) sauce. Does anyone have a scrummy recipe that I can try? Ta, Floss

well my bog standard is fry some onions and garlic, add some toms ( i use passata) and a bit of stock and let it all bubble together until thickens, then add your meat balls and heat through, a bit of fresh basil and a handful of olives at the end completes the dish for me

(cook the meatballs first though)

although i prefer meatballs with onion gravy and mash mmmmmmmm

Thanks mccfluff. Sounds yummy and easy - I hadn't thought about olives and my son loves em so I'll give this a go tonight. I'm hungry now!
forgot splosh of red wine - if you fancy it that is, mine usually ends up in my glass though
Bit of worcester sauce in there too. Then boil some tagliatelle (or spaghetti or any pasta you want really) and when nearly done (al dente), chuck it in with the meatballs and pessata sauce.
I fry onions and garlic and then add 2 tins of chopped tomatoes. After that its up to you, I use worcester sauce, black pepper and some lazy chilli. Use the basics and then taste to suit you.

You are right you were being lazy!! LOL I normally finely chop some red onion and then fry off, let them go cold and then mix with beef mince, roll into balls and then pop in the fridge to chill.
my lot moan if i leave the red green and peppers out - and courgettes

happy eating
