Do any old timers remember the kids programme Pogles Wood?  And if so, where can I see it again or get some info about it?

I used to love Pogles wood with the flower that told a story.  If you go to the Dragons friendly society site(sorry can't do the link) there is a bit about it.

Just read the bit about 'old timers' in your question.  If I'd have noticed that I wouldn't have posted a reply so quickly!
Although a little before my time, it was one of the early efforts by those two living legends of children's TV - Oliver Postgate and Peter Firmin (Bagpuss, Ivor The Engine, The Clangers etc). There is a whole site on Pogles' Wood here:

http://www.pogleswood.org/

and the site for Smallfilms, Postgate and Firmin's animation company is here:

http://www.smallfilms.co.uk/

I believe most of these programmes, including Pogles Wood, are readily available on video and DVD.

They have the rarely seen "The Pogles" and episodes of the Watch With Mother follow-up "Pogle's Wood" on VHS video tape.

The Society hope to release episodes on DVD later in the year.

The BBC released a number of episodes on video tape quite some years ago, long deleated now.

Oopsy-doodle, my mistake. Quite right, Mr Clark! Bagpuss and some of the others are readily available, but Pogles Wood not so (for the time being).

For some good background info on the series go to the TVToons section of

Old timers? ............Old timers???????!!!!!! (Look of dismay and anguish on my face).

My great great great great great great grandson is having to type this for me as I can only use a fountain pen and parchment, but yes, I remember Pogles Wood.

I thought for years that I had actually been to Pogles Wood as I had seen the sign, but apparently I was only 3 years old and couldn't read, so I presumed it said Pogles Wood when actually it read 'Drop No Litter'.

I used to have a copy of Pogles Wood on VHS, but lent it to someone and never got it back, so am looking forward to the DVD
