my daughter and partner are camping in a lightweight tent in cornwall she has just phoned to say what is the best way of stopping her tent blowing away, shes doubling up on guy ropes, ant suggestions
Hee , good one snags :-D
I would think the only way to maybe stop it blowing away is to make sure it's well pegged down , like she is already , good luck to her , I don't envy her I must say jaffa cake x
Tell 'em to ditch the tent and find a cave.........safer and warmer too and wont blow away!..........................
ask them to take a hammock.........picnic basket with some honey.............some porridge
and some fish!!...................they'll have a 'whale' of a time!
If it is one of the lightweight bendy pole all in one type tents just makes sure she uses every pegging point and guy rope and make sure the ropes are taught. The pegs should go in at an angle to the ground of about 45 degrees (ie not straight). I've camped in gale force conditions in Scotland and never yet lost a tent. If she can park a vehicle in front of the tent to act as a wind break even better.
