Was there any truth in the rumour,that,in 77' 78',at an Ian Dury and the Blockheads gig in Northern Ireland,there was so many police on stage that you couldnt see Ian Dury or the Blockheads

yes it is true. The set and the PA system were all covered in Wallpaper which made the uniforms look totally unreal and Ian was carried off the stage. The band went on to Dublin which was also heavily policed. None of this compared to the police at the Boomtown Rats gigs in Belfast and Dublin before I Don't like Mondays went to No1.
