I had to come home early today because I nearly passed out at work. I was fine this morning and then about 10am I started to feel light-headed and dizzy. There is no air-conditioning at work and the thermometer on the wall said 30degs cent. The Accommodation Unit won't let us open any windows as someone jumped from the 18 floor window over 10 years ago and it is prohibited.
I feel for anyone who is a manual/physical worker. How are you all coping with the heat?
Yes I know I'm moaning again but I enjoy a good moan and its what I do best.
Ah,but sqad you have AC units that are bringing in fresh air to circulate with fans, tiggs doesn't have them and isn't allowed open windows. So all that is being moved is warm stale air...as I said before :)
We have air vents jutting out from just under the ceiling which the climate control system operates but the cool air is nowhere near enough to cool the building.
During the winter we have the complete opposite. Our heating doesn't work properly and it goes below 20c which I find too cold.
You can buy little battery driven handbag fans which are really quite good provided you have some spare batteries. These are the ones you can put your hand in and it stops without chopping your fingers off. I carry one, they are very useful for cooling your face which has a way of making you feel cool all over.
How am i a kid,ill l leave you unable to walk, drenched in sweat, speechless and still quivering in orgasm 24 hours after ive walked out of your front door!
Yes any personal electrical equipment taken into a company has to be PAT tested before it can be used, as most companies are not prepared to pay to get personal equipment tested they just ban it's use, all personal equipment is banned from my company, (well except for me, I just test my own stuff if I take it in ;))
Lol Red, thats what I'm aiming for. I work in Lunar House in Croydon which is the UKBA's headquarters. Its a public office but I deal with staffing management so I'm behind the scenes. We're not allowed AC units in the back offices.
