My daughters male friend rang her today to tell her that he has swine flu, she saw him on Sat before he became ill, what are the chances of her and her 18 month old daughter contracting the flu? Any help much appreciated. Thank you

The chances of your daughter's male friend and her 18month old child contracting H1N1 are good.

However, the 18 month old is less likely to become infected.

Your daughter should follow all the advice given by the Mof Health, should she become infected.

Now here is the rub....H1N1 can only be diagnosed on blood tests and from what I gather, this is not going to be the case and the diagnosis is going to be made by assumption.
Sorry..typo...should be "your daughter".........not your daughter's male friend.
