Why is there not a facility to delete or even star out the masked F word?
I'm fully aware that there's many folk who will be able to get round it, and you can't possibly delete them all but surely the F word, mispelled to say the same as a popular clothes company should be one of them?
And yes, I know that some folk will say that it's only swearing if we read it as such- but no one is naive enough to believe they were added into posts to be read as anything other than profanity.
As a family forum, which this is supposed to be- isn't this something that should be looked into?
BOO...I am not trying to wind you up......if I was, I would have mentioned that peasents was spelt peasants.....but I am not so give me the benefit of the doubt eh?
I've never spat anything at anyone in my life. I've given you an honest assessment of my views as experienced in the short time, less than 5 months, I've been contributing to AB.
But your attempts at being a latter day Mary Whitehouse to AB will simply not wash. I don't say that as someone who needs to express my views with expletives although I have used same on an odd occasion.
I've come to that conclusion simply because so many of the threads are indeed littered with barely disguised swearwords that it's obvious that such expressions are part and parcel of lots of postings. I'm not condoning the language, just stating a fact.
Therefore no matter how well meaning a crusade is launched here on this subject it's doomed to fail. Fact.
agreed, B00, but who cares what the likes of me think. For the benefit of younger ABers: swearing was once removed and the people who used it sometimes were too. They don't do that any more. This may be seen by some as 'joining the real world'; I think it's just that they can't be bothered moderating AB, they just want to make money out of it. It is no longer a family site.
