16a. Openers good for unknown receptacles (4)

I'm left with C?GS.

Cigs? Cogs? No, can't see it - I may have gone astray on one of the down clues, of course.

I'd be grateful for any help.

You need DRAKO with a 'K' for 7 DOWN (The Greek spelling). This gives you KEGS (receptacles) for 16 ACROSS

Openers = KEYS, the Y (unknown) is replaced by G (for good)
I had 'Drake' for 7 down. Is 'Drako' a legitimate alternative spelling for 'Draco'?
Thanks for your caution Greyfox. I don't have Brewer - if you Google Drako, you'll find it. Is DRAKO in Brewer?
You're right Greyfox - I've just eliminated the cross-checking letters and I have an E, not an O left over.
I hope you get this Bathtub!
Had assumed 'Drake' was correct, but hadn't looked at the cross-checking letters, so I'm glad you've confirmed it is OK. Thanks crucifernz.
I got it completely wrong, using DRACO (which is in Chambers for dragon) I decided that COGS was fine as it is a vessel (as COGUE) in Chambers. I never bothered to check the cross-checking letters or to bother to think out the wordplay. Ah well - that'll teach me.

Many thanks, everyone. It'll teach me to crosscheck my answers too - and I really must get a decent edition of Brewers!
