Spotting 9 days before period is due

I started spotting today, about 9 days before my period is due. I normally do spot about 3 days before my periods, but never this many days before its due. About a week ago my husband and I had unprotected sex. I miscalculated my ovulation dates because my periods used to be every 28 days very regular, but I have a 7 month old and since he was born they have been about every 31 days since I stopped breastfeeding, so I still had 28 days in my head! I did an online calculator and I was ovulating last Sunday when we had unprotected sex. What does spotting mean? Is it implantation? And does it occur about a week after sex? I know spotting could mean different things. I'm just no good at the waiting game, and I actually do want to be pregnant again so its driving me crazy. Thanks!!

I'm in the same predicament as you. My cycle is 28 days, with my period lasting 5 days. My period started July 13th. My husband and I had unprotected sex on July 26th. I�ve had dull cramps since July 30th. On July 31st in the evening, when I wiped I had red blood mixed in with clear discharge. August 01st I woke up with a tiny bit of brown blood in my underwear, and all day I�ve had pink & brownish coloured blood when I wipe. I�m still having dull cramps. I�ve read that implantation bleeding can occur anywhere from 6 � 12 days after ovulation. I'm wondering if it's too soon for implantation bleeding to occur since it's only been six days since ovulation? But the last couple of months I have been spotting in between cycles due to alot of stress at work. I know it�s stress related because I spotted for a few months leading up to my wedding and then it stopped. This time around though, the spotting is different because of the cramping associated with it. Also, when I was spotting before I never had red or pink blood it was always old blood that was brown. I guess I�m overanalyzing because I just want to know whether or not I�m PG. My period is due August 10th. I bought a home pregnancy test (double pack!) which I will do five before on August 5th. Please keep me posted on what happens and I�ll do the same!

My period is due August 10th too! I started light cramping tonight, but I haven't had anymore spotting than once or twice this morning. I'm just scared of taking a test too early or scared of it being negative altogether because it makes me so mad! I went through this in June because I stopped breastfeeding so I spotted and cramped for like a week before I got my period. Apparentely its normal when you stop breastfeeding though. When we took a test and it came up negative we were sad, and then we were shocked because we thought we would be happy lol. So it would be cool if I was pregnant now. its not like we've been doing everything we could to stop from getting pregnant, but at the same time we haven't been trying real hard either. I guess we'll both know in about 10 days for sure!
