cancelling flights

I know this sounds like a bit of a no brainer but i could do with some help on this. Ive been trying to get to see my sister in Jersey for a few yrs now and through circumstance have never made it. Well at the moment i am in a position to be able to book some flights at a very reasonable price. However, we are trying for a baby at the moment and are unsure whether flights will coincide with late pregnancy or baby arrival. Does anyone know if it is possible to cancel a flight etc and the monetary consequences please?

You'll lose a percentage - that will increase the closer you get to departure... varies from company to company...

thankyou for your reply, i will now book my flight but make sure my insurance is in place just incase.

i'm not sure which company you are using, or which airport you are going from, but the low cost airlines fly there - we recently got flights with flybe for about 20 quid each way t Jersey. Mst flights are not transferrable or cancellable with any money back but it may take you years to get pregnant, so don't put it off

Sn�gs' post applies more to package holidays than it does to individual flights. Budget flights are sold on the basis that the tickets are strictly non-refundable.

easyJet fly to Jersey from Liverpool. They don't offer any refunds:

I'd be extremely surprised if the policies of bmiBaby, Air SouthWest, Aurigny, BA, or any other airline flying to Jersey, are any different.

Buenchico is correct... my mistake... my answer was based on long haul flights I've booked in the past... not short/budget flights...
