Convert .class file to playable format?

Some music sites (legal downloads) offer music files in the .class format... but how do I play them?

I've tried simply renaming the file extension to mp3, this doesn't work. No media player can open the .class file either.

Any ideas?

PS. This question has been asked once before... but the author (Simonof17) didn't say how he solved the problem! If you're out there Simonof17... please help!

a .class file, to my knowledge, is the output of a java program (or perhaps even C++). Perhaps you'll need a "runtime environment" to cope with this class file?

I'd abandon it and look elsewhere for an mp3 of the same track.

LOL by absolute chance I renamed the file to .zip and happy days it worked!

Except that I can't play the mp3 without finding a password!
(A .txt file tells me to check out some random German website for the password but I can't find it)

Sounds a bit dodgy so I think I'll just bin it.
