A litre is a measure of volume and an ounce is a measure of weight so you would need to know the density of the substance to be able to answer this
A litre of what? It all depends on the density of the fluid. A litre of water weighs 1 kilogram. A litre of mercury weighs 13.6 kilograms. This is at room temperature (20C) and pressure (1 atmosphere). A good website for calculating such properties is here: http://www.mhtl.uwaterloo.ca/old/onlinetools/airpr

Obo - didn't see your answer as was writing when you posted, so apologies if I was stating the already stated.

If you mean fluid ounces, it's 36fl oz (approx) in a litre - well, that's what my measuring jug says. Any good?
No worries Andy.... these things happen and your answer gave more detail than mine anyway so fair enough.
An imperial pint contains 20 fluid ounces and is equal to 568 millilitres. So ounces in a litre are 20x1000/568 or 35.211 ounces.
