Patient A Performed a sex act on him, whilst he examined her.
Patient BHe unzipped my trousers and started to examine the lump, but moved his hands further down I started to laugh and we ended up on the couchdoing things to each other.
Patient C Have you come for sex or treatment asked the Dr. A bit of both she replied.
And would you believe it, it is the DR. that is being criticized and investigated.
In my particular Practice, and area, I haven't heard of any home propositions... maybe the GPs are just keeping their heads down?! (or keeping schtum that they did actually get their heads down....)
I think these days a doctor would be more wary and more careful - not so much of the Carry On Doctor as there probably used to. I think these days the docs are far more likely to be bonking their nurses or secretaries than their patients. I know of a LOT of instances of those particular goings-on :-)
Happens all the time, but if there were ever a hint of a patient, of whatever sex(!), coming on to one of our GPs, I am sure they run like a rabbit caught out in the headlights, fill in an incident sheet and it would go on the pt's records as a warning to others.... None of ours would act on it, or do anything rash - they;re all far too scared of litigation like you said.
I haven't heard of it happening recently - though have heard references to such events decades ago.
is that right what ummm (I think it was) said at the top of the thread - that one of the patients was depressive and he threatened to withdraw her medication?
Sorry, that's not a human relationship, that's rape, with blackmail thrown in.
Yeah, the doc was threatening to withdraw her medication. That is wrong and I agree with you Jno, it is rape. However, in relationships be that of doctor/patient or other where ethical standards govern the conduct, I think they are breached all the time and generally with consent of both parties.
And if that's the case then I can't see what's wrong with that? Everyone to their own, whatever their reasons. People know the consequences of forbidden relationships and it is on their judgement. If it all ends in tears, they only have themselves to blame. And if the relationship/fling remains secretive then good for both parties?
My doctor's really dishy!!! He is such a family man! He has all these photos of his wife and kids on his desk - it's so sad. But luckily he and I have strong moral convictions and I respect him so much for that. Although he can examine me anytime!!!
what a strange thread - you appear to be asking a question to which you have already formulated the answer. If you are unable to alter your opinion why have you asked the question in the first place, you must have realised that there would be lots of different takes on how this was interpreted and yet you still mark others answers as correct or missing the point...
