I want to do some baking but I can't figure out how to insert the cold plain shelf into the aga. It is narrower than the other shelves and tins so it doesn't seem to fit but it must do! Any help?

The cold plain shelf should sit on any on the shelf rests. It should be placed on one of the higher shelf rests to deflect the heat from the top of the oven for baking. The shelf that you use for your baking should either be on the floor of the oven, or on the next shelf rest. This is,of course, if you have a 2 oven Aga. The 4 oven Aga has a baking oven, and the plain shelf is not needed. I agree, it must fit!
Is it square? If not, then are you inserting the right, wider, side in? Is it wider if you turn it through 90 degrees?
