HDTV wide screen

Hello, i'm gonna be getting a HDTV, i already have a PS3 to watch blu-ray movies but i was wondering can you ever get rid of the top and bottom black border lines so that the movie fills the whole screen?

Yes you can. There is a button on my Remote for changing Screen size and if you use Zoom feature you can get rid of Black Border. You can change Screen Ratio by using this Feature.

The button on tv remote allows one to select eg 'normal' which is 4x3 format,or a number of different formats eg 16x9, but the 'letterbox' format you don't like is the panoramic format in which the film was shot-one can zoom-but lose some of the original picture
