I am looking to get a bigger engine in my Ford Ka.I used to own an Orion Turbo and quite fancy the idea of turbo-ing my car. I know that there is no point doing this to my Duratec 1.2 8v so I'm going to get another engine. I have my eyes set on a Puma 1.7 Zetec SE with a Van Aaken low pressure turbo bolted on. Can anyone tell me if this will fit. If not would a Puma 1.4 with a Van Aaken turbo fit in the engine bay. Finally if the Puma swao is a total no-go would an engine from a Fiesta Zetec- S with a supercharger on it fit in the engine bay. I've got about 4 grand saved up. Answers please?

You've got 4 grand saved up and you're going to waste it on the car? Why? You won't recoup any of that cost. 5K will get you a nice Puma, so p/ex the Ka for a Puma and you'll be much better off.
This seems like a complete waste of time and money to me too! Sorry!!
Go for a Honda Civic or Prelude 2.2 VTEC, bomb proof engines when serviced well, 185bhp from the factory and loads of tuning parts available.  Much safer in the long run than having a racing fag packet of a ford Ka....

Are you sure the transmission will take the extra power you are considering?

How about cooling/intercooling?

Were you planning to uprate the brakes at all?

If you (and your insurers) are still up for it this page has a link to turbo charging KAs - there's a company who'll do it for 1500
