HDTV wide screen

Hello, i'm gonna be getting a HDTV, i already have a PS3 to watch blu-ray movies but i was wondering can you ever get rid of the top and bottom black border lines so that the movie fills the whole screen?

Yes, when watching the movie press triangle and go to the symbol called screen mode and press x to select. Hope this helps.
