Went out for a quick drink last night about 10 ish.
There were 2 children (10 yrs about) in pub till 10:50 pm.
What do others think about this?
Poor parenting or am I just terriblt old fashioned?

acw agree with all you say, have raised some valid points. i assumed and must stress assumed that the couple i saw had been drinking, they were talking so loudly, i just dont feel that a parent under the influence of alcohol; or anything else, for that matter should have resposibility for a child. im no saint, believe me! we go on haven holidays and the children are with us in the social club till it closes, dancing and larking about, joining in all the games and party dances, but i hope you agree that holidays are different. i must add to that if they get tired and want to go, we do go home
Holidays are JUST the sort of exception I was talking about toecrusher so of course I agree.  I also strongly agree that parents should not get drunk when their children are in their care.  One should always remain sober (at least sober enough to drive).
Unfortunately in this area it seems that there are a few families who allow their kids to run riot late at night.  In some cases 7,8,9 year olds are still out playing, shouting. swearing, and generally disturbing the peace long after 10.30pm even on schooldays.
To be perfectly honest some of the "adults" seem to be just big kids themselves, with no regard for anyone's rights but their own.
I may be old fashioned but I was brought up to respect adults, but nowadays it appears that kids command and adults obey.
This does nothing for my blood pressure or other problems.
I may hold politically incorrect views but I hope that I'm not alone and somehow things will improve before I expire.
I think that is completly bad parenting. Here in the USA you see alot of neglect. Such as two year olds running around in the streets totally unwatched on a daily basis. It makes me so mad. As parents we are to always be aware as we know anything can happen to anyone. And maybe a lot less would happen to children if they were being watched all the time!
i don't think you are being old fashioned.  My eldest child is 8 and the latest bedtime is 2030hrs.  when me and my husband go to a pub in an evening after 8pm i wouldn't expect any child of that age in a pub.  it's not just poor parenting it's selfish keeping children out that late in a smokey pub
