Has anyone ever been attacked by a domestic cat?

No...but my cat would attack anyone that went near my baby son. Anyone that didn't live in the house that is. She also use to guard him if I left the room, she use to follow me if I took him out in the buggy and she'd chase after my car if I drove off. All I would see in my rear view was a cat pegging it after us.

She didn't come home one day....I think she got hit :-(

YES! our cat attacked my brothers gf. the cat was in love with him and followed him everywhere and slept in his bed etc, and hated his gf (but she wore mad green cats eye contact lenses, and i dont think that helped) and one night it was being particularly nasty and in the end it ran at her full pelt along the landing on its back legs with its front legs outstreched, claws out at her, so my brother twatted it with a fire extinguisher.

(Here goes for the cat lovers complaining about twatting it with a fire extinguisher...)

but it was particularly vicious....

Hi Ummmm, lol at your cat pegging it down the road! :) mum and dad had a boxer dog b4 i was born, and it would lay by my brothers pram and guard him and not let anyone near him for a look! lol! and a guy i knew was walking his dog, also a boxer, and she came pelting towards him, knocked him off his feet, broke his leg, and then, later on, wouldnt let the ambulance crew anywhere near him!! lol! he was lying in the park with a broken leg for hours, waving, and people walking past thought he was drunk!! ha ha

My cat thought she was a dog.....she scratched my friend across the face because she picked my son up and she'd hiss at anyone who walked in the room if I wasn't in there. She was a guard cat..!!

I'm getting a new cat tomorrow.....it's going to be called 'Brian'

lol! good name! are you naming him after a famous brian, or just because you like the name? I fell in love with a collie at the rspca once and wanted to take him home and name him Colin. he just looked like a colin! Hope Brian has a good first day at home wiv u, good luck! x

when cats are excited they scamper madly and could jump on you. Brushing them off excites them more and they rise to the challenge.....a good kick soon puts them in their place!

Cruel - maybe......but it avoids a child being similarly attacked.

Thanks for your answers, folks. Did not think any of you would have been this unlucky, as most cats love humans, and would never attack them. You aren't any of you mice, are you; as that would explain why you have been attacked!

I had a cat a few years ago that attacked my next door neighbour.....there was a good reason for her viciousness though.The neighbour's son had been trying to get their two dogs to attack my cat,one of them got hold of her and she fought back,the neighbour tried to seperate them and my cat turned on her.
The same cat once attacked a Staffie who used to terrorise our estate,the dog was allowed to roam loose all day and would chase people and had bitten several people over the years.I was walking back from the shop one day and heard this almighty screeching and barking,I looked up to see my cat firmly attached to the back of the staffie with all claws out,she was biting it's head and the dog was running round and round trying to shake her off.I called her and she came running up to me as calm as can be and I swear she 'smiled' at me.lol
The dog wasn't allowed to roam loose after that incident.
The dog wasn't seriously harmed by the way.
