Just 30mins. south of Barcelona, easy access, quaint and not to big and touristy.Still maintains the traditional way of life, with beautiful beaches, lovely people and good restaurants.I'am biased though as my daughter lives there, but it has no neon lights, no fish & chip shops or loads of english pubs, just enough to do and very relaxing. Hotels and apartments are all within reach of good beaches. However it is known for it's " GAY" friendliness, but each to thier own and everybody is very tolerant.
we went to Alanya Turlkey in 2007, it is a 2.5 hour coach drive from Antalya airport but a very interesting town with old and new parts and amazing mountain backdrop.
I would have preferred to go to a resort neater Antalya like Side as the hotels there seemed alot bigger and there were more all inclusive. The food was brilliant and cheap too and it is a very civilised and technologically advanced country IMO.

they charge 10 00 to get in country if the note is ripped or crinkeled they dont accept
also if there is 2 of you make sure you take 2 10 notes
as they dont acceptr a 20 for one persona and no change
and the shoe shine boys chase you round to clean ya shoes even tho you are wearing sandels
apart from that its a great place to visit lots of old

Have a look at Olu Deniz in Turkey. Went last year and the coast is stunning. Its not what you would call traditional Turkey, as it is more or less a purpose built resort, but there are no high rise hotels, but plenty of bars and restaurants. There are loads of tours on offer, go to the local agents rather than your rep as they are better value. The boats that moor off the beach are great,we had a full day on one, including lunch and the chance to swim off the boat at several stop-offs for about 10 each.
If you're adventurous you can tandem paraglide from the mountain behind the beach.
Would say though that we went in May, it was very hot then, so check the summer temperatures!
Btw if you've never been to Turkey, try the Turkish baths:-)

Have you thought of Cyprus, it has wonderful beaches, lots of sun, pleanty of history and many different restuarants plus much more. We always go to Paphos, as it's only a 15 min transfer from the airport and there's something for everyone, couples, famileys and groups. There are 3 championship standard golf courses within a half hour drive as well. Flights can be expensive we've found with Cyprus airways, Monarch and thomsons you should pay no more than 250 return flight peak session. We like it that much we brought a holiday apartment, which we also rent out please take a look at www.sofilia.co.uk.

I agree with Manga. Try Sitges. Not to big but lots to do and see. Reasonable hotels, lots of resturants and bars and easy to get around it. You can walk from one end to the other in 20 min. Most things are 10 min from the train station and its only 20 min into Barcelona if you want to spend the day there when you are not on the beach. Try the Hotel Romantique. Reasonable with breakfast included. Ask for one of the rooms with the patio that overlooks the
garden.

I would recommend you to go Spain for a holiday. It is a beautiful place with lots of glorious beaches all around. We had our trip to Spain last month and it was a wonderful trip completely organized by Holidayclick.co.uk
You can also have cheap tour packages for spain. Such tour packages are affordable as well as comfortable. You just need to relax and enjoy, every thing else will be looked after by tour operators.
