Does anyone have any good recipes. I've recently moved into a house with my boyfriend and dont work, so i do the housewifey duties so i dont feel guilty about him working n me not. lol But i'm fed up of making same stuff each week. I can make Stew, Cheese and Potato pie, spag bol and easy stuff like sausage n mash, meat n 2 veg etc, but i want some more traditional ideas, like shepards pie, casseroles etc. Can anyone help me?
Thank You

Steak & mushroom pie: braising steak, onions & mushrooms, fry together with seasoning, then add stock and cook for 1.5 to 2 hours either on hob or in oven. Leave in casserole dish to go cold overnight. Next day, either make your pastry top and put straight on the casserole or transfer the meat into a pie dish first and then put the lid on, bake in the oven until golden brown. You can always vary the recipies, like chicken & mushroom, minced beef & onion, etc.
A casserole would be pretty much the same as starting the pie above, except obviously before leaving it to go cold - and you just add veg for the last 3/4 hour or so, depending on how you like them. Just make sure you've diced everything to about the same size so it cooks evenly, although of course potatoes don't need to be too small or they 'dissolve'! I remember when we were young in winter mum would have a casserole on the stove almost constantly and just keep topping it up.
Everyone has their own recipies for these traditional dishes and you will in time as well. Good luck.
