What do you think about the yob culture now-a-days? Intimidating our society and what should be done by the government because the law is over-protecting them but not us.

yes I totally agreed brooklyn77. Change the parties if they are not doing a good job, thats the way to do it. Is like a reward to stay if not then somebody else have a go. Is more like a sure thing for labour have another term regardless of there achievements, this way they would think harder before they make a decision.
I dont agree that nothing can be done. Extreme right wing against criminals is the way to go. If i was in power, i would bring in the death penalty for everything from theft upwards. I would also send people to correction centres for having no manners or for being rude to others. I would also bring back the birch and re-open the tower of london as it was 400 years ago.  I am not a Nazi, i hate Hitler and his Rascism. But think of this. How many criminals (other than the Nazi's themselves) had the guts to go out mugging and raping in the early years under Hitler? They would of been executed without remourse!

magic beatle - You know, your a person after my own heart..almost.. I too believe in heavier punishments, and life for a life.

However death penalty for theft?? I stole when I was younger...got arrested, never did it again and have a job on the other side of the law now.

Now if I had been executed I would never been given the opportunity to correct myself. I turned out good.

I agree that kids should not get away with crime after crime just because of their age. How about 3 strikes and you get a minimum 1 year prison term, no matter what age. Naturally for anything more serious than theft you go to prison staright away and for longer than one year.

Also something to consider, in countries where they execute criminals, they still have high crime rates, proving that harsh punishment alone will not stop crime or redue it.

Harsh punishments mixed in with reform for offenders and punishments for consistently bad parenting..where its shown the parent is not really trying.

I am very worried about Britain's yob culture so much so I would consider moving abroad. I am 32 years of age and worry about bringing children up here. I do not see such yobbism in other countries and wonder why it is so bad here. I have lived in France, Italy and the USA and travelled extensively, and just come back from 2 weeks in Germany. There they drink beer more than us but without any whiff of trouble. I come back to London and people are swearing, drunk and screaming in public and the pubs are raucous and tense. I am a former schoolteacher too so have seen the problems brewing. I do not know the answers, only the problems...
