Men say women are crap drivers but i disagree.
On a road near home there is a system where one car has to give way to another, therefore giving the other priority- (a traffic calming measure- seems to have the opposite effect!!) I was travelling happily down the road, me having the right of way, then suddenly the car i thought was waiting suddenly decides to try and make it around the system before i get there ( i was 2 metres away from it!!) therefore being on my side of the road, so i honk my horn as there is a car coming toward me and have to stop to wait for the idiot that has decided he cannot way 10 seconds for me to pass. Cheek of it is he stops in my way and starts having a go at ME, saying that i should have let him go!! I try to shout that i have right of way but to no avail. Surely this country should have a reporting of bad drivers system - these are the type of people that think they rule the road and cause accidents. What do you think??

I think there should be a system where if someone does something bad like road rage, dangerous overtaking etc. you can stop and text their numberplate and if the service recieves two of these from two different phones then the police can be informed to look out for this car.
I think the system would go into overload at the amount of bad driving I see on a daily basis.

Its quite frightening.

Angel I agree with you - I think men are more confidant which can make them take more chances - and I can't abide rudeness on the road, when you give way and the other driver does not acknowledge you by either lifting of the hand or flashing of the lights. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr it makes me angry. Mostly this is older men.
same scenario happened the other day to me angeldevil,7am was taking my wife to work, when a works van came speeding round my side of the road,i had the right of way,i had to bump up on the pavement.when i peeped my horn he gave me the finger, these guys are a danger on the roads.
I see bad women drivers almost daily - sadly.. being a woman myself... however - of all the accidents I have been in.. they were all the fault of the Male driver!

Then again.. this morning - a mum driving a car that was obviously too big for her - round a roundabout - next to me (3 lanes) she caused me to slam brakes on as she obviously thought her car was so wide she needed to use my lane too!!! Forcing me in to the kerb.
I had a situation like this - a man! - overtaking me on a side road with speed bumps. I saw him every morning on my way to work. He did stupid things like this every morning to me and other drivers! I reported him to the police and they wouldn't do anything because they didn't have him on record for anything and he hadn't been in touch with the police for anything so therefore they had no contact number (even although I knew where he lived; which was a 40 seconds drive from our local police station!). They wouldn't visit; call or write to him. What annoyed me more was that I had an arguement with him about his driving attitude and told him I was reporting him, but of course, he never found out that I did!
This is a case for inboard dash board cameras, they work well in the USA it can save you £££££££££££ on your insurance especially the dick heads that think they are good drivers & cause accidents.
One thing I do notice is excessive speed during the rain. On the dual carriage way I travel up and down for work, it's very common.
There is a system in place to report bad-dangerous drivers but it is not easy to do it.

I have seen one case where a driver has got an ASBO.

It needs a few other people to report bad driving behavior from one particular driver to the police and they have to take action if enough witnesses come forward.
I think it's ridiculous to say men are better drivers than women or women better than men. There are so many factors and variables coming into play at any one time that no one can make broad sweeping statements about the opposite 50% of the motoring public. In fact, it's quite foolish to do so. Each driver has their own temperament, skill and experience level, personal problems etc. etc. The truth is that many men are better drivers than many women, and many women are better drivers than many men.

That being said, there is one point I would like to make in favour of men being better general drivers than women. No machine can be effectively and properly operated unless the operator fully understands the workings and technicalities of the machine they are operating. I know there are many men who don't understand what happens when they depress the clutch pedal, but there are even fewer women. In fact, the percentage of women who understand what is happening in the engine, clutch or gearbox when they change gear must be very small indeed. It's a common trait for women to ride the clutch and very few would understand the problem with doing so. Despite protestations of sexual equality and women can do the same as men, I have yet to see a woman changing her own brakes or even looking under the bonnet. There's far more to driving than just pressing that pedal, pushing that lever and turning that wheel. If women don't understand the machine then - along with the men who don't understand either - they can't drive (or operate the machine) as well as someone who does fully understand it.

That's my only general comment. When it comes to carelessness and aggression on the road and the will to break the law, men and women are equal.
