Cat owners

I wonder how many cat owners / lovers would have them if they had to clear up their mess (as with dogs) from other peoples lawns and gardens. I bet the cat population would diminish quite rapidly. I know my neighbour who owns two ginger toms would not be able to perform such a task, don't think she knows how disgusting it is as her cats use my garden despite me using all the recommended deterents. Perhaps there should be a law that you cannot own a cat unless you teach it to use cat litter provided by the owner on the owners premises and should they perform any where else then a hefty fine would be appropriate.

Kazal is not the only one who feels strongly about this, my previous neighbour had six cats all of which used my Garden as a loo, and when I complained he gave me the old "well it's a cats nature" Which was ok with him till Max appeared on the scene and soon sorted his cats, he wasn't to happy I told him it was a dogs nature to bark at and chase cats and that I was going to...

How do you propose that someone would train a cat to do anything? They are not like dogs who will obey commands after being taught them!
Why is it ok to advocate hurting a cat but if anyone was to say this about a dog there would be dozens of posts calling the person who said it all sorts of nasty things............
"You need a shovel... firstly to 'scoop the poop'...
Secondly, to give the aforementioned cat a good thwack over the skull...
And thirdly to bury it... preferably in someone else's garden... " (as posted by snags)

How would you prove which turd belonged to which neighbourhood cat?
Maybe If you stand in your garden for several hours with a camera you can get photographic evidence to present to the owners of the culprit, although I still don't know how you expect them to stop the cat doing it's business wherever it wants to.
I have never known a cat to poop in the middle of a perfectly manicured lawn anyway, they will do it in long grass and then bury it but not (in my experience of owning cats for many years) on a short lawn.

I am not a cat lover...briefly owned the most evil cat in the world which I gave away to a farmer friend....best ratter she ever had.
In my last house my neighbours who were out at work all day had 3 cats.....when they couldn't get into their own house they used to try and get into mine, I had to replace the kitchen door because it was gouged with their claws.

My cat goes to the toilet in my garden so I clean it up every day. If I knew it was going in someone else's garden I would be happy to clear it up the same as if I had a dog. Orange peel on the lawn helps - cats hate the smell - used it successfully before I had my own cat when my neighbour's cat used my grass as a toilet.
