Panasonic DVD recorder

I have finally got around to setting up my new DVD recorder and have some questions for any experts.

I have managed to get it to scan all the digital channels(the user guide is not good and the alleged Auto Set-up never happened) and these can now be seen on my TV.
I also have an old Goodmans Freeview Box[FB] which I used before. On the FB there is an option to select from 3 aspect ratios for the picture. This does not seem to be there on the Panasonic. Does anyone know if it is there and, if so, can tell me where?
Also, when tuned to any digital radio channels, the static logo and any text is very blurred with the Panasonic but perfectly clear on the FB. Has anyone else found this and a solution?

It would help if the gave the model number of your panasonic. That way, if somebody on here has the same machine they should be able to give you an accurate answer.
