Hi, I wish to purchase something of the e-bay site, but have found now you have to register, along with credit card details first.  Not so long ago, you could obtain the address of the shop etc, so you could just post your order off, along with a cheque or postal orders.  Now you cannot do that, I wish to purchase something thats not expensive or a bid, a little something for someone, and I think the place is a shop, anyone know how I can go about getting the address?? cheers

I think you still can pay that way, but not sure if you have to register card details anyway maybe they use it as a form of ID. Why don't you e-mail the seller of the item you want to buy and ask them?

Goto the auction that you want, and click "Ask seller a question".

Ask them for their address!!!!

It appears that this Colchester based seller is not a business.

Are you certain that the sign-up for eBay.co.uk asks for credit card details?
I just tested the start of the process and all it asked for was Name, Address, Tel. No. & Email.

And then they ask for credit card details as a form of id.

eBay.co.uk do not ask for any Credit Card details since they do not directly involve themselves with the financial side of the auctions.
PayPal (their sister site) is the financial arm and there is no obligation to sign up with them.

If you know someone who is registered with ebay - they can access the section titled 'ask the seller a question' - and you could ask them for their address!

You only need to give credit card details if you want to sell stuff on e-bay. I buy stuff all the time and I dont have a credit card
