Parking Rights

We live in the middle of a row of terraced housing, and are the only one of a section of three with a drive and lowered pavement to access this. All on-road parking is unallocated and on a first-come-first-served basis.
We have recently had a number of incidents where our neighbour has been parking partially blocking our access to the drive across the lowered pavement. Each time they have reluctantly moved their car.

Tonight they moved their car so I could get on after I knocked their door, then moved it back to their original parking position. I then had to ask them to move their car again as my partner had not returned home. I was told by them that they pay their road tax so can park where they want. They have since moved the car albeit reluctantly.

What are our rights in this matter and who should we contact?

They can't block your drive as that's obstruction but whetther anyone would actually be interested is doubtful. Are either of you registered diabled?

Hi, as the others say they are not allowed to block your driveway. I believe the law on parking over a dropped curb was changed a few years ago. This means that even you are not allowed to park there and that in some areas this is enforced. If you want to contact someone try your local council who will give you more information.
