Fax problem

I have a thermal printing fax which prints out with thick black continuous lines down each side of the paper. Faxes I send are received with the lines and if I use the copier then the copy also has the lines. However if I get a report, this does not.
I have cleaned everything as per the manual i.e. rollers , reading glass, white backplate, and printing head, but with no real improvement.
The model is UX-70/75 FO-251.
I don't use it very often but when working it is handy occasionally.
Can I fix the problem or should I throw it away?

Sounds rather like the image transfer mirrors have developed some 'bloom', they are real pigs to clean and realign so I suggest you bite the bullet.

Thanks for your answer. If I have to throw it out then so be it, but needed to make sure it was no good before I did. Thaks again.
Try to replace its print head. If still fails, you can throw it away.
