Are there any rest homes near you? There are a lot of elderly people that don't get any or many visitiors or you could just volunteer to read out loud to the people there if one on one was too intimidating. Lots of older people have fantastic life stories if you listen and encourage them with simple questions. Or volunteer to do shopping for elderly people near you. They usually don't need much so if you live near shops it shouldn't be too much trouble to carry it.
Also visiting art gallery's or museums if they are on a bus route are great ways of spending time.
Babysitting is fun sometimes and while you might be at home it takes time to think of things to do with the kids.
Hope something helps!
