My Samsung N110 (5 months old) has just crashed and I can't do anyting with it, there is a blue screen and I cannot even turn the computer off. AVG said it had done a scan and needed to restart computer which I allowed it to do, I think it's been hit by a Malaware virus cos it kept popping up unasked. Is there anything I can do myself, ot is this a professional job, I would, at least , like to be able to close it down. Any help or advice very gratefully received. Thank you.
try ctrl, alt and del keys to open task manager, select any 'not responding' program and end it.
If that doesn't work, press the power button for a few seconds, this should force the machine to shut down.
When the machine is on next, run an AVG update and scan again.
let me know how you get on.
Wow, many thanks for that advice, it was getting rather warm! Have just restarted it. Will now run AVG, will let you know, thank you both so very much, I could see my life savings being spend on it!!!!
Help again please! AVG when clicked on says Green Tick, you are protected all working Ok then it goes to another message in red saying no active components does that mean AVG had gone and shall I re-install it or is all OK?
thats a hard one lol, if they are malware, they could dig in deep.
Did you notice what sort of icons they were? if they were shortcuts, there might be a program in your system. Go to add/remove programs and delete anything you never use or haven't heard of - be careful here.
I think it'll have to go into a shop, as it keeps freezing and nothing works, I try to download malaware etc but then it just goes away. Can't find any components on avg, says none right now!!!
