Charles....I think after all this time he should be given a shot at it.

How old is now?
Question Author
He's about 60 odd isn't he?
Question Author
61
So there's a good chance he wouldn't be in for long.
Dont want charles as King but look how old the queen is. He could be king well into his 80,s
Question Author
I think William, at only 28, is far too young still to have that responsibility (burden) put upon him. Let the lad have a stab at a 'normal' life before he's thrust on that particular throne. But in good time I actually think he will make a better job of it - he's more in touch with us 'common people' than his father. If the monarchy still exists in good time.....
i thought charles wasn't allowed to be king
Why Cherry?
when he got remarried sorry not up with the times but wasn't it all over the news at the time that he couldn't become king ?
i know that was 4 years ago and i don't follow the royals so i am probably wrong
No....that would be true if this was a Catholic country.

No cherry - but they did say that if Charles became King, that the public would unlikely to accept Camilla as his Queen - they would give her the monika of King Consort or some such silly title.
There's no reason for Charles not to become king. He wouldn't be excluded on the basis of ability or popular opinion just look at our royal history.

I think it's quite likely he will take on the role for a short time then quietly abdicate to give good king willy the job.
