A report out today (from a left wing group) says unemployment amongst young (16-24) Asians is 35% and amongst 16-24 Blacks it is 48%.

Amongst 16-24 whites it is "only" 20%

So much for the rubbish about immigration being a benefit to this country.

All it has done is left us with hundreds of thousands of low education people, many without qualifications, who cannot (or will not) get a job and are now a burden on our society and our benefits purse.

And if course it is all too late because successvie goverments have let them in and we are now stuck with them (and their kids, and then their kids).

What a way to ruin what was once a great country.

Couldn't agree more.

I cannot understand most on this site, they sit back with their rose pink specs on, oblivious of what is happening all around them.

Perhaps they will when they find it hard to obtain the services of a GP, find it difficult to get a school place for their children, are sacked from their jobs and replaced by someone who will do the job for a fraction of what they are now getting.

Well if they can't see all this now, they or their children will in the very near future, just wait until it effects them personally.

Perhaps then they will not be so quick in calling those with a little more foresight than they possess themselves, 'Racists', 'little Englanders', 'Bigots', 'Daily Mail readers', etc.etc.
That's because you're looking in low income areas and drawing the dumb conclusion that what you see forms the valid conclusion.

"If it's true for me it must be true for everywhere - surely I couldn't be wrong"

I look around where I'm working in computer security and see a lot of immigrants here.

Indians, Poles, French, Spanish we've even one from Nepal.

You don't get leg up for being born in Britain

Would you buy a more expensive poorer quality washing machine because it was made in England?

No?

Then don't ask me to employ a poorer qualified more expensive worker just because he was born here
Some of these immigrants provide neither delicious spicy food nor Olympic quality athletes. What's more, they are determined to stop Britain from being exactly like it was in 1950.

CAN'T SOMETHING BE DONE?
Well, thank Labour for the minimum wage, or else there'd be a new rock bottom.
Some will live 10 to a house, the 2 Ronnies did a sketch about the same thing in the 70s to do with Indian immigrants (some perceptions never change) I've had a brick layer since before December, a very unreliable man, I'm not threatened by immigrant labour even though my job is accessible to them.
Perhaps the solution to the housing crisis is to build closer family ties, rather than to move out and do our own thing.
Certainly if siblings looked after their elderly parents more *as is the Asian (including sub-continental) norm the strain on health care would be much less.
If going for a walk in the countryside leads one to believe this country isn't overcrowded then the only conclusion one can draw is that one will not convinced until everything is built over. And we will have massive problems long before that happens.

Of course a country's requirements drops when the population does, that's what makes it clear overpopulation is the root problem, and that controlling it the long term solution.

A larger population, regardless of whether it is via immigration or the birthrate, can not be the solution to generating sufficient wealth. Larger numbers may seem to solve the problem short term, but in the longer term it just pushes a growing problem into the future. Not caring that tackling the problem is being pushed back until after the time when one is no longer here, doesn't help the country.

The solution can not be increasing population to cover needs, but ensuring sufficient wealth is generated from those employed to cover the countries requirements, will. We do not have 100% employment, so we already have sufficient workforce, to cover plumbing, medicine, and bin emptying; continuously adding to the population merely exasperates the situation.

How can you possibly know what type of area I live in?

So you are prepared to ignore what is going off in another area, as long as your area is OK?

// Then don't ask me to employ a poorer qualified more expensive worker just because he was born here ///

So you are prepared to let your country (if it is indeed your country) develop into a third world country?

With your thoughts, perhaps you would be better off in China, making quality items using a lowly paid workforce.

Can you answer this question?

Would you wish to see the British standard of living to fall, due to jobs being taken up by those who have no real attachment to this country, but are prepared to do the job for less than the indigenous population?
aog, why would I change my views because I can't find a GP? The fact is, all my GPs are immigrants. They're what keeps the NHS going. Chuck them out and I *would* be in trouble.
oh, and

Would you wish to see the British standard of living to fall, due to jobs being taken up by those who have no real attachment to this country, but are prepared to do the job for less than the indigenous population?

well, the other side of the question is: Are you prepared to pay more to buy British?

You could insist on a Reliant Robin instead of a Hyndai. You could holiday at home instead of taking your money to Spain. You could buy at a local farmers' market instead of the imported stuff at Tesco's. Do you? Do many people?
AOG have you been to China?
In the north the heating is free for everyone, what we may call low wages in a factory are actually quite high for them.
Roughly £200 a month would give you a decent lifestyle in China, 2 can eat in a cafe for £1.50 that's with extras and drinks.
The poor in China are the farmers and fruit and crop pickers (roughly 30 yuan a day), but even they have a respectable standard of living.
I am not against immigration! If the local population can't or wont do a certain job, then get the immigrants in to do it, eg. fruit & veg picking in the fens, doctors, dentists etc.
What we don't want is foreign scrotes or chavs...we've got enough of them in the indigenous white population!

That is a silly argument, it matters not whether a GP is British or an Immigrant, they can only take on so many patients.

Then why are you here?
aog: yes, but you can always take on more doctors. There appear to be queues outside medical schools, immigrants among them; and plenty of immigrants, already trained, willing to take on the work. Do you really think floods of sick immigrants are or will be preventing me from accessing the NHS?
My Mandarin is poorer than my poor Cantonese, but more importantly I have to look after my mother, see to my father and help raise my niece.

/// yes, but you can always take on more doctors.///

And yes, who is to pay for all these extra doctors?
