Skin is best moisturized from inside, so make sure your wife is drinking plenty of water.  They say that when you feel thirsty, you're already beginning to dehydrate, so she should be sipping H20 throughout the day.
Lots of evening primrose. I have very dry skin and this helps me a lot.
Tell her not to worry about the five stone, my wife found it.
landie, bog off! Majove, give your wife a big hug from me. I know how hard it is to keep the weight off, I lost 4 stones 3 years ago and I'm still battling. However Ouish is right. I drink water by the bucket, approx 3 litres a day, and my skin and hair are in better condition now than they were in my 20s. I use a water filter if that's any help
Best thing for dry skin is Aloe Vera lotion , cream or gel.Works for me ,hope this helps others aswell.

Well done to your wife but she has lost weight because she has eaten fewer calories. Diets have to contain a certain amount of fat because some vitamins (A & D ?) occur in a larger percentage in fatty foods.
I recently lost 3 stone and my skin started to look dry and chalky. I seemed to lose the glow until i started using incorporating olive oil into my diet. It is one of the 'good' fats no cholestoral unlike the artery clogging animal fats.
can someone please tell me why my answer was banned?
