John Cusack film

Does anyone remember a film from the 1980's called Better Off Dead? I believe it starred John Cusack. I think it was a teen black comedy. I would love to remember what happened in it? As it's just a misty memory in my mind! Also if anyone knows if you can buy a copy on DVD?

wOw! Goldie, I was just thinking of this movie the other day and I went to amazon.com to find it on DVD...They have it there for sell, as you've already been told....

This is a great 80s classic! They show it on TV every so often here in the U.S... John Cusak plays an outcast teenager who meets his neighbor's female French exchange student, and they pair up to penetrate the snobby, rich click of their high school (snow skiers)...in the end, J.C. of course, wins a ski race and shows them all off and he gets the French girl. The finniest part was seeing him working at the burger joint daydreaming that the burgers are singing to him! (and the Asian brothers that always provoke him to race their car) haha...gotta love the 80s!!

I bought this a few months back from www.play.com, and I'm so glad I did. I'd forgotten how good it was. Definitely one of the better teen comedys of the 80's.

Its the bit where hes going to hang himself at the top of the stairs, then changes his mind as his mum comes in vaccuming knocking him off the stairs, that bit always cracks me up. Whats the q-tip bit all about though???
