My personal symptoms of menopausal hot flushes are a flush starting in your head and travelling down your body-which goes pink and boy do you sweat and feel hot to the touch-night or day.Not the first time the shaeets have had to be changed at 3 in the morning.
The advice you have been given in previous postings sound like good advice to me.
Good Luck
I got the flushes and symptoms with a negative blood test. My doc thought that I had something nasty and neurological as I got dizzy spells as well. From conversation with others I think that the flush experience is very varied. At worst, I get an adrenalin surge first...heart pounds, stomach lurches, then I feel like I am heating up from the inside out, finally I go red and perspire. Little flushes just make me feel warm but it doesn't show from the outside. Looking back I believe that I was perimenopausal for about 18months before the symptoms got bad enough to see the doc. I had mood swings, put down to stress, memory lapses (ditto) joint aches (too much gardening) and the odd sensation of being too hot, but then I have never been a chilly person.
Its now 7 years since those first symptoms, (during which I have tried every treatment known to womankind with no lasting success. best one was progesterone cream which moderated things nicely for 2 and a half years but seems to have lost its effect) and no sign of let up.... (sigh)
I have hugh mood swings and the odd dizzy spell. But not much else. It's like the heat starts from the inside. I feel extremly hot. it's so uncomfortable. It comes and goes and some days it doesn't happen at all. I have to go to have some more tests this week to rule out Altzhiemers as my mother had it at an early age. My Dr did a full blood test as I said but could find nothing to account for it and this is the second time in a year he has done this.
Thanks for all your imput though.
