Weekly Pay VS Monthly Pay

What do you preffer ?, I personally prefer Weekly Pay, and I seem to struggle when I get paid Monthly, however the firm I work for, all the Warehouse & Driver Personnel, are paid on a weekly basis, whilst us poor office staff are paid monthly I say Why ? and our HR deparment which I E-mailed  cannot provide me with a answer, any theories ?

It might be cheaper to pay you monthly - it's less transactions at the bank. 

Obviously this still doesn't explain why some people within the company are weekly and others monthly.  Maybe it is connected to things like taking out money for a pension scheme or more likely - how much notice you have to give if you resign or they sack you.  (well, not YOU obviously, just if they sack someone). 

I  bet you are paid a lot more than the driving staff.  For a lot of people there is status with being on a salary rather than a wage.  If your salary is, eg �20k a year (I have no idea so please don't be offended if that's too low!) they can divide that into 12 equal payments and pay you monthly.  For the drivers, they may be paid �6 an hour.  Although they are contracted to do a certain number of hours a week, this is flexible and so it's easier to process it each week, than guess in time to pay them the correct amount on the last friday of the month. 

I hope that makes sense.  It might be totally wrong.  I also realise I've attempted a few guesses here!!

I agree with acw (I think). Salaried employees are paid the same amount regardless of hours whereas hourly paid employees money can go up or down frequently. It's a big enough headache calculating wages for a large workforce on a weekly basis (I used to do it) without having to save 4ish weeks worth of hours/wages.

Don't know why your HR couldn't have said that?
