Just picked up a used Fuji finepix Z20fd to keep in the car, I already own among others a Fuji finepix S5800 which I generally use but I wanted something just to throw in the glove compartment. Anyway, I placed an SD card in the camera and was informed that I needed to initialise card first? I've never had to do this before with any of my cameras so was stumped. I have sent off for a manual for the camera but in the mean time any ideas however stupid they may make me look? TIA

Sorry - Caps Lock on in error
If the camera says 'not initialized' then it's recognising the card... you can go to the menu and 'format' the card again.

Also double-check to see if the card lock switch got tripped. It's located on the side of the SD card... really small.. make sure it's unlocked.

Thanks puternut! I had blundered so far down that 'manly' route a.k.a 'I don't need to read the bloody manual' that I floundered and didn't think straight. Many thanks to your level head!
