Great pyramids from Luxor

Is it possible to do a trip to the great pyramids & Cairo from Luxor in Egypt.  If so, is it cheap and how long will it take?

Probably,but as the GP's are near Cairo, and Luxor is in Lower Egypt,you would have to fly.Whether that would be possible in one day I don't know.If you are considering a nile cruise in the Luxor/Aswan area ring a reputable Tour Operator (Bales,Kuoni etc) and ask them,if they don't know they are not a good operator!

Just visit the Luxor Hotel and Casino in Egypt...oops, I mean... Las Vegas, Nevada....that should solve your troubles.... ;0)

Information Courtesy of Egyptair.Journey Time Luxor~Cairo 1 hour(and reverse of course) So you COULD probably do it in a day,subject to the whims of the airline,and we all know what they are like! LOL

I travelled from Cairo to Luxor and it was an overnight train journey (about 8 hours I think).  We did it as part of an organised tour and I seem to remember that there were only certain trains you were allowed to travel on as a tourist (the tourist police keep an eye on you to make sure everythings ok) so you might want to check it out before you go
