blu ray or playstation 3.??

i was about to buy the brand new sony blu ray dvd player when i read in a magazine that a playstation 3 would actually be better. can anyone back this up please.??

definatly ps3 because you can play games talk to peple and go on enternet for a extra 50 pounds maybe a bit more

I dont know about the blu ray,but the ps3 is stunning.The only reservation I would have is the ps3 is prone to overheating(Yellow Light Of Doom/Death)as my ps3 did just this the other day,I am considering a separate BR player.HOWEVER fans are available and the issue has supposed to of been dealt with,with the newer slim ps3.
Obviously a HDMI connection is a must
