3D on the DSi

Included in this page is a video of a 3D game Rittai Kakushi e Attakoreda for the DSi for which you DON'T need to wear any special glasses, and it looks rather good (maybe the gameplay will be rubbish).

Is this the future of 3D gaming?

That works like those "magic eye" pictures. Not everyone will see the effect.

Oh and to play cross eyed for long periods of time will damage your eyes.

But it's a different 3D image on each screen, and playing games in which the display is split over 2 screens is what the DS and DSi are all about. You view both screens with both eyes, not left screen for left eye/right screen for right eye.

Could you not see the 3D effect in that video? It's nothing like "magic eye" pictures" whatsoever. Rotate the handheld and you see behind the objects that are intended to be at the front of the display just as in real life you move your head to look around the sides of a object.
Sorry, I didn't even realise there was a video. I thought it was a still image with two similar pictures!

I just watch the video and yes it looks amazing.
