Leading on from Theland's question below, it seems to me that believers confuse man's innate spirituality with religion. Even the most ardent atheist is capable of experiencing spirituality, but he doesn't acquaint it with the God of the Arbrahamic faiths, so why do believers feel it necessary to do so? Is it simply that they have to justify it by putting a name to something they can't explain - regardless of the culprit's appalling demands, threats, and disgraceful track record?

Great. So back to the original question. Why do believers feel it necessary to associate natural aspects of their humanity to something other than themselves.

Luna, While I might not entirely agree with your belief system it appears at least to make accomodations for alternative points of view. Taking a chair in the luny orchestra makes a hellofalot more sense to me than strapping on explosives far in excess of that necessary to blow oneself to smitherines just to make a point.
In that spirit, count me in.

^^Got your magpipes handy? (Was that what they were called?). :o)
Even as an accomplished versatile musician, I can not be expected to make music from just any old beverage bottle Naomi. Depending on how well the warm-up session went, I might be willing to provide some flexibility with respect to quality as long as potency has not been compromised. But it absolutely must be of sufficient capacity to be properly tuned with enough left over to wet my whistle and keep me in high spirits throughout the performance. We all know how temperamental cweus musicians can get about not having a proper instrument to play on.

Ah, so that's wot dussit!
In the video, I'd be the musician on the right.
Well now Mibs 'n Nims, I shall be looking with inteterest for a Mib type thread in Adverts to not only enjoy the latest propaganda for Mibism, but to see if such a rickety shack could be transformed into a stone Sanctuary for world weary travellers.
Question Author
Mibs, I believe it! :o)

Theland, quite honestly, I can't see the point of anyone doing all the necessary renovations when the inmates allow their membership to lapse. These things take dedication. ;o)
I shall take an airy fairy oath on the life of my three winged budgie to commit myself to the establishment of a stone walled seat of learning dedicated to Mibism.
Hold you horses there Theland. The new sanctuary is ready for admissions pending the approval of the honourable Dean of Admissions. Cross your fingers . . .
Question Author
Yep. Looks good to me.
Looks like the new sanctuary's been approved Theland. All we need now is a secure channel to slip you the key. As notorious as you've become around here lately you might prefer sending me an email as opposed to posting an email address of your own right here in front of god and everybody . . .

Have taken this opportunity to send an abusive mail from a pseudonym, Mibs...
Thanks for the warning Waldo ;o)
