Is it possible to shoot your entire family with a machine gun over dinner 'by mistake'?

It is patent nonsense. Presumably the Nepalese Royal officials as as paranoid as our own about controlling what the public finds out. Bad luck for them that in this case the truth came out faster than they could suppress it, and I see eye-witness reports now claim he went about shooting his family in the garden as well as in the house. If the bodies were scattered around the palace it doesn't sound too much like an accident.

As Homer says, it looks like a triumph of truth over cover-up. I do have some sympathy for the Nepalese Royal Family in this - they are obviously popular and respected, and would want to try and play down the notion that one of the Family could behave in such a manner, which is basic human nature (the'playing down' not the behaviour!) and they have obviosuly failed to keep the lid on the facts. Tragic, but unable to be hidden - a lesson for all of us?
