If anyone with a good knowledge of cars could please read this and advise, it would be much appreciated.
I recently bought a 4 yr old Kia Magentis with only 12k. It was very cheap and in mint condition and as a nurse and single mum that was my main consideration. It's a 2ltr but Iv'e seen this +25 Bhp mod chip on ebay. I know what it does and if the car was just an old banger I would stick it on and what the heck!
However I would hate to ruin a perfectly good car for nothing. Apart from additional running costs is there anything else I should consider about this thing if I had it fitted ? Does it give the feel of a larger engine?

Sorry Eddie51 doesnt actually work like that, i agree in what you are saying but in reality it very rarely happens. Unless it is a major mod i.e.bodykits/ serious alloy wheels, spoilers etc.the ins. co wouldnt be aware and certainly there engineers wouldnt pick up on an engine mod, again unless it obvious ie air cleaners etc.
. Most accident work is done by imaging and more often than not the engineer doesnt get to see the vehicle. If by any chance the repairer spotted something they would keep quiet about it, they need the work !!
Obviously if it was a serious or fatal accident and a police examiner was involved then thats a bit different.
