Somehow I find it rather depressing that a tune by The Cure now accompanies ads for Nivea armpit lotion and skin moisturiser.

Anyone else been demoralised when favourite tunes become tools of the 'singing salesmen'?

Stuart Maconie - what did you begin!!!

Another wonderful appocryphal story - stand up Ricky Gervais - is that Daddy Long Legs carry enough venom to kill an adult human, but have no mouth parts, so cannot bite anyone.
have you noticed the advent, and increas, in Beatles' songs used in adverts. neil Aspinall, road manager from the early days, and opverseer of the band's copyright management always refused either adverts or compilations for the songs - but since his death - in they creep. Shame.
Also I think it is Micheal Jackson who has the copyright for many of the early songs. He started selling them of just before the collapse of his Pedo File Funfair.
