Height of Transit

Help - how high is a bog standard Transit, I'm stopping at a Travelodge and the car park has a height restriction of 2 metres.

Transit vans that are similar to such as police transits or one with height and abit of length

Military SWB Defender is 2.1M

So I'd say it was touch and go given that info!

Lets hope they are erring on the side of caution then, or else it'll mean letting the air out of the tyres! (Had to do this once with a Luton transit when I tried to go under a railway crossing to avoid the level crossing and got wedged!

well think shouldnt have no problems but will get idea once looking for yourself and if have doubts can only park elsewere locally

No not wedgied on the track, the underpass avoids the track but its only suitable for cars! The look on the drivers face coming the other way was a picture, but it was too late, I was committed and once wedged could not reverse.

Anyhow, most carpark entrances with height restrictions are the type with a wooden board hanging of a pole, as long as the van is lower than the pole it's fine :) if you hit just the board then don't worry about it, just go under slowly and the board will run across the top of the van

No, Ely. Bottled out and hired a Yaris in the end, bloody good job as the car park has more than one level and the barrier is not a wooden one - its the upper level of the car park so solid concrete and no way would the trusty Tranny have got under!
