As I don't have Brewer hard copy, I need to confirm which of the alternative spellings it gives for:

9 ACROSS
6th letter - A or O? (neither is on online Chambers but other sources give both)

16 ACROSS
5th letter - J (the most common) or H? (Chambers gives both)

I'm struggling with 30d. All I can come up with is FLYMAN, but it doesn't make any sense.

must be an alt spelling issue. second letter of 30D is an I not an L. does that help?
