Was round my blokes dads for tea lastnight and his sisters, brother, and niece were there. Anyway after tea his sis and her bloke went out for a fag, his niece after a while noticed she'd gone and said 'where is mummy?' and the oher sister said 'shes gone outside for a cancer stick' well I looked at her and said 'jeez dont say that' I mean the child needs to know they are bad but to say that probably scared the life out of her! Would you have said anything or do you think she was right to say it?

I know people that call them that, and have done myself, although never in front of children!

Although I dont think I would have said anything, but that is because I am far too soft and cant stand up for myself! But would have wanted to say something!

Oh my God!Yeah you don't say something like that to a 5 year old, it's just going to lead to more questions and possible upset. Maybe the sister just said it without thinking and didn't mean any upset..

would you have told the auntie she shouldnt say it ummmmm? I mean I try not to stick my nose in as they arent my family as such but couldnt help myself then

At my nieces the other week for one her kids 5th birthday party and when I asked the little girl were her mummy and granny were she replied that they were in the garden having a suicide stick

Bloody hell.....

I'd be very angry if someone said that to my 5 year old.
